Why Have a Foundation?

In 1996, residents of Moorings Park pooled their talents and financial resources to make a collective philanthropic impact. The result is Moorings Park Foundation, with over 26-years of history it is the charitable arm of Moorings Park’s three campuses.

The Moorings Park Foundation charitable giving plan for 2023 focuses on three avenues of service:

Partner Support: Scholarships, childcare assistance, affordable workforce housing, and other areas as needs arise. The Foundation also plans to fund a special pilot project per year to support partners. In 2022, the Foundation funded a fuel reimbursement initiative and gave $200 gift cards to every partner.

Community: Through help from the Community and Educational Program Grants, Moorings Park Foundation helps fund projects that boost the successful aging and develop the workforce that serves seniors within Moorings Park and the greater Community.

Residents: If a resident were to outlive their resources to not fault of their own, the Foundation provides Benevolent Care for residents so they never have to move from Moorings Park.  Residents also can choose to fund campus enhances and programs which have included the Sheffield Theatre, Bobbi Tolley Art Studios and OMA, Lyon Park, the Military Plaza, Korest Plaza, the Johns Hopkins Fellowship and so much more.
