Why Have a Foundation?
Moorings Park is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which requires it to operate for charitable purposes. To ensure our communities’ tax-exempt status, the Moorings Park Foundation was established in 1996. Since then, residents have pooled their talents and financial resources to make a collective philanthropic impact on the lives of others.
Moorings Park Foundation’s charitable giving focuses on three avenues of service:
Partner Support: Each year, the Foundation funds scholarships, childcare assistance, and affordable workforce housing. Beyond those areas, needs arise such as disaster relief following hurricanes, fuel reimbursements and grocery store gift cards during times of inflation, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for continued education.
Community: Through the Community and Educational Grants Program, Moorings Park Foundation helps fund organizations that boost successful aging and/or develop the workforce that will serve seniors in the future.
Residents: If a resident were to outlive their resources to not fault of their own, the Foundation provides Benevolent Care for residents so they never have to leave Moorings Park. Residents also can choose to fund campus enhances and programming like the Sheffield Theatre, the Bobbi Tolley Art Studio, Opening Minds through Art (OMA), Lyon Park, the Military Plaza, Korest Plaza, the Johns Hopkins Fellowship and so much more.
The Moorings Park Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization. It is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions to the extent permitted by law. The Federal Tax Identification Number is 26-3631295.
