The Foundation was created by residents, for residents. For 30 years, the generosity of Moorings Park residents has been the driving force behind the Foundation’s impact. Today, residents continue to provide the majority of philanthropic support, helping enhance lives on our campuses and throughout the Southwest Florida community.
Moorings Park Foundation exists to provide opportunities for philanthropy that enhance the lives of residents, support Moorings Park team members, and strengthen the broader community. As a nonprofit organization, Moorings Park Communities reinvests its operating revenue into fulfilling its mission. Charitable gifts allow the Foundation to fund scholarships, childcare assistance, resident support programs, community grants, housing initiatives, and other projects that would not otherwise be possible through operating funds alone.

Monthly fees support the operation of Moorings Park Communities, and the services residents receive. Charitable gifts allow the Foundation to provide support beyond operating funds to enhance lives and strengthen our community.
Yes! Moorings Park Foundation honors and celebrates the many ways residents support causes they care about and is grateful for those who choose to support the Foundation as well. Giving through the Foundation offers is a unique opportunity to invest in the community that enriches your life every day. Through our resident-led board and committees,[JC2.1] gifts are thoughtfully guided toward opportunities that strengthen Moorings Park and extend its impact beyond our campuses. By pooling resources through the Foundation, residents create a collective impact that would be difficult to achieve individually. Additionally, we manage every gift with transparency and accountability, stewarding funds responsibly and directing them where they can make the greatest difference.
No. All charitable contributions made to Moorings Park Foundation remain under the Foundation’s stewardship and are used to support Foundation programs and initiatives in accordance with donor intent. The Foundation is a separate charitable organization that manages and distributes donor funds for approved charitable purposes. Donor contributions are never used for general operating expenses of Moorings Park.
Yes. Donors may choose to support a specific fund or program. The Foundation honors donor intent and ensures that all restricted gifts are used exclusively for their designated purpose.

Undesignated gifts are directed to the Foundation’s area of greatest need, allowing the Board to respond to emerging opportunities and priorities while maximizing community impact.
No. When the Foundation raises funds for a specific capital project, the donor chooses to designate their donation for that specific purpose.
No. The Partners Appreciation Fund is a resident-led initiative that is entirely separate from the Foundation. Contributions to the Partners Appreciation Fund are provided directly to Moorings Park team members as an expression of resident appreciation. Because these contributions are not charitable donations to the Foundation, they are not tax-deductible.
The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, mostly comprised of resident representatives, and is managed by professional staff. The Board is responsible for ensuring gifts are stewarded responsibly and used in accordance with donor intent.
The Foundation is committed to responsible stewardship. In 2025, approximately 88 cents of every dollar entrusted to the Foundation directly supported programs and initiatives.
Like many charitable organizations, the Foundation maintains reserves to ensure long-term stability and responsiveness. These funds help protect against unforeseen circumstances such as hurricanes, economic downturns, or emerging community needs, while allowing the Foundation to sustain its commitments during challenging times.
